Crown Hair – Branding Package

Isn’t it a lovely feeling just after you leave the hair dresser and you feel like a transformed, better you? Of course, if the worst case scenario does happen, you can end up feeling like just the opposite. At those times, and we shudder to think of them, you might wish we still wore bonnets and bowler hats, or consider becoming a nun, so that only God can see how truly hideous you’ve become, because by all account He doesn’t bother himself too much about that kind of thing. We definitely prefer to think of the good times, when you feel so fabulous you might even put on a little bit of a strut.

Recently we did this complete branding package for Crown Hair, which included a logo, business cards, letterheads, a website and a few little extras. We love getting crafty in the studio and this was no exception! We don’t often get a chance to get out the spray cans (we wish we were cool enough to be graffiti artists… although for all you know, and as highly improbable as it seems, we ARE Banksy). The meaning of the logo here is quite self-evident, we just needed to think of a creative and appealing way to represent it. The logo does come in two variations – the mark which is made of the crown symbol, and the logomark. They can be used together or applied separately onto different types of collateral, which we’ve done here. We also put it on to their website, and since it’s so clear what Crown Hair are about, they only required a one pager.

It was definitely fun to make up the little extras, like the paper bag and the ribbon. We don’t always get to do lovely little bits and pieces like these. There’s something about the little extras that make the experience so much sweeter, both for us as designers, and the customer who’s buying the experience. From the mini soaps and pillow mints that you get with your hotel room, to the complementary glass of wine you get at some very high-end stores, there’s something about that extra thought given to your smallest comfort that enhances the memory of that transaction, even if you paid a whole lot more to get it!
