Shout Out to the Foodies

We think it’s pretty safe to say that in our design studio, we are REALLY into food.  It’s a love affair that will never get stale, as long as you mind the use-by-date.  Just as people are becoming increasingly aware of what they are eating and the overall culinary process, designers are looking at the concept of food as an exciting one, viewing it as an idea and material worth exploring and experiment with.  It’s cool to think about, not really any other material comes quite as close to human beings as food does.  We are essentially eating design on a daily basis and we don’t even realize.

We are aware that it enters our chompers and travels to the stomach, but it also creates brain activity and generates memories and emotions of a place or a time.  Yes the world is a’changin’ but we are discovering that elements of design and food are reuniting like long lost pal’s, pushing creativity to a new level of awesomeness.  Just as designers are integrating food into their work, chefs and restaurateurs are embracing design into their cuisine.  Try to take the time to appreciate food for not only its deliciousness and the comfort that it brings, but for the exciting design potential it is already creating.
