DPM’s Mixed Tape – In Situ

The flavour of any studio or work place is made up of something far greater than the sum of its parts.  The magic element is often alluded to*. Some people draw on the idiom ‘well-oiled machine’ while others shoot for a more holistic approach like branches of a tree et al. Whatever your choice of phrase, a connection or tension between forces is what makes for a great workplace. We decided to ask a few key peeps in the DPM crew about three of their favorite songs in a hope that this would shed some light on an oft dark and mysterious topic**. The first person to bring us back all these songs on a cassette tape wins a prize. Either that or a poem with all the song titles in it.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Berlin
Joy Division –  Love Will Tear Us Apart
Jackson Jackson – Cats Rats and Pigeons

Malcolm Mclaren – Madame Butterfly
Massive Attack – Unfinished Sympathy
Lou Reed – Andy’s Chest

Bill Callahan – Too many Birds
Belle and Sebastian – Cuckoo
Chairlift – Most Evident Utensil

Kid Confucius – Good Luck
Coloursound – Fly with me
Vampire Weekend – Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa (the teenagers remix)

Eels – Grace Kelly Blues
Elliott Smith – Waltz 2
Magnetic Fields – All my little Words

*You should hear Radi when he’s interviewing people! Hub, vibe, family, culture. Yikes! Just pay me cousin so I can go and buy some stuff and keep this economy going.
** We love lists here at DPM and although this isn’t intended as a die hard be-all and end-all list, feel free to judge us harshly. We would!
