If you haven’t experienced the 18th Biennale of Sydney, then we feel you should hightail it out of wherever you are presently and get yourself over to Cockatoo Island. Well, we understand that if you are currently at your place of work this may not actually be prohibited, but we are just wanting to to plant a small seed of urgency in your minds as the festival finishes up on the 16th of September. This free art extravaganza gathers a community of local and international artists from around the world that have created works that celebrate the relations between peoples, places, animate and inanimate things.
Even if you aren’t the biggest fan of contemporary art, the locations: the MCA, Walsh bay and Cockatoo Island are worth exploring themselves. The old, raw industrial precincts, warehouses and shipbuilding yards on Cockatoo Island, create a beautiful concrete landscape for the art to inhabit. This event held every two years gives us creative souls faith, injecting Sydney with a big spoonful of art and culture, reminding the country that educating Australian’s about contemporary visual art and design is important too. We support many awesome art galleries around Australia, take a peek at the postcards and projects we have created for them.
