Nicole Kelly is a Sydney based artist specialising in painting and charcoal illustration. She has received numerous accolades including the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship (2009), the Glebe Youth Art Award (2013) and the Hazelhurst Gallery Local Artist Award (2013). Kelly has been involved in a number of group shows since 2007, holding her first solo show ‘Notes from Paris’ in 2012. Her latest exhibition is being held at the Moran Sylvania Gallery until April 13, 2014, and is titled ‘Nicole Kelly New Work: Figure and Landscape’.
Nicole Kelly approached us to help her with collateral, specifically an exhibition catalogue, with the goal of gaining exposure as an artist and building up her name in the industry.
Kelly approached us in late 2013 with the goal of gaining exposure as an artist, building up her name with both the art industry and the public. She approached us to help her with collateral for her ‘New Work’ exhibition including business cards, invitations, a banner and an A4 full colour saddle stitched catalogue.
The Nicole Kelly exhibition catalogue was designed as a companion to the exhibition, to be a reference as the public is viewing the work in the gallery. Displaying the artworks to their full potential as well as provide information on Kelly and piece details, it would also act as a momento or souvenir for the attendees. The focus of the publication is the art, so the images are big and the text is used as supporting and balancing elements.
We delivered Kelly a collection of printed material which not only shows off her pieces, but presents her as a professional. Having a firm foundation of high quality collateral really supports Kelly’s artistic offering, and with a limited run of 150, these have now become valuable documentation of this emerging artist’s exhibition.
