If you ever find yourself in Erskineville, make a beeline for Hive Bar and get yourself an E’Ville Pilsner. It’s drinkable. Very drinkable.
That was where we first learnt about St Peters brewery, an inner-west gem locally run by artisan brewer Matt Donelan. The philosophy is simple: to create delicious beers only available in the inner-west (no further than Marrickville and Enmore in fact) so that the beer miles and carbon foot print is low.
Donelan even delivers his brews personally every week, so you know they are going to be fresh. The brewery’s Green Star Lager is so green it has no packaging or landfill waste, is vegan friendly and uses locally grown ingredients.
Refreshing. Much like that pilsner.
